DiSabatino, Joan C.

Joan C. DiSabatino, aged 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Born November 14, 1936, and raised in Wilmington, Delaware by her aunt and uncle Carman and Eva Burrows. Joan was adored and admired by all who knew her. Known for her love and appreciation of antiques and clothing, she owned and operated Collector’s Corner in West Palm Beach, Florida and The Very Thing Boutique in Greenville, Delaware.

An avid collector, Joan took great pride in decorating and filling her homes with unique treasures from past and present. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing with her children and bestowing wisdom upon her many grandchildren. In her younger years, while raising her children, Joan enjoyed spending her summers in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with her family. Some of her favorite things to do were people-watching on the boardwalk and indulging in hot fudge sundaes.

Beloved wife of Bernard A. DiSabatino for nearly 68 years, Joan was a dedicated mother to her six children – C. Joseph DiSabatino, Michelle Cassidy (Mike), Wendy Panzera (Mauro), Deborah Balland (Jean-Luc), Bernard DiSabatino II, and Craig D. DiSabatino (Brenda). She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Joan was a beautiful soul whose vigor for life could only be matched by her deep commitment to her home, her family, and her faith. Her legacy will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org.
