Jean M. Robinson, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2016 at the Country House where she had been a resident for 13 years.

Jean was born in February of 1923, in Montreal, Quebec, the eldest of four daughters of James and Jessie Anderson. She married Max Robinson in October 1944 and shortly thereafter moved to Indiana where Max completed his doctorate. They moved to Wilmington, DE in 1949 when Max took a job at the DuPont Company.

In addition to raising four children, Jean was active in her church, Concord Presbyterian, where she served as superintendent of the Sunday school program. Jean volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Emmanuel Dining Room, and the Sunday Breakfast Mission. She was on the board at Kentmere Nursing Facility, as well as a member of the Junior Board of the Wilmington Hospital. Jean enjoyed attending classes at the Academy of Lifelong Learning, travelling the world with her husband Max, spending time at the family cottage in Avalon, NJ, and watching the Phillies. Jean and Max are responsible for starting the tradition of the Anderson/Robinson family reunions. Her greatest joy in life was staying in touch with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her husband of 72 years, I. Maxwell Robinson and her four children, Ken Robinson (Joyce Miller), Eric Robinson, Barb Harra (Bill), John Robinson (Susan); 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Doreen MacNeil, Helen Harvison, and Rita Aitken.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 2 pm in the Danby Chapel at the Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807. Friends are invited to greet the family at a reception following the service in the Delaware Lounge.
