Agnes J. Arnold (nee Bercero) passed away peacefully in her home on December 15, 2016. She was 85.

Agnes was born on September 16, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to her parents, Juan and Estelle Bercero. She attended St. Anthony’s High School and later graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Management.

Agnes moved to Pennsylvania in 1951 where she met the love of her life, Roy D. Arnold. She and Roy were married on August 2, 1952. They enjoyed traveling the US together throughout their marriage. The Arnolds moved to Delaware in 1964 where Roy worked for Grief Brothers and Agnes was a loyal employee of Sears for 26 years.

Agnes was a loving and dedicated mother to her three children, Douglas, Theresa and Kym. She enjoyed spending time with her family and delighted in seeing everyone together and watching her great-grandchildren grow. Agnes loved playing bingo and taking trips to the casino with her friends and family members. She was well known for her ornery nature and feisty spirit.

Agnes is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Judy of Wilmington, DE; her daughter, Theresa Arnold; son-in-law, Chris Benton; and her seven grandchildren, Allen, Adrien, Alexis, Kyle, Katie, Tyler and Nikki; and her nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and her daughter, Kym Benton.

Agnes will be buried in Swarthmore, PA on December 23, 2016. A mass of Christian burial will take place on December 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Agnes’ life.
