Eileen Marie Doherty, 70, of Wilmington, died in peace on Saturday, January 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Eileen had fought a courageous battle for over six years against a very rare disease. She was born in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania in 1946 and moved to Delaware in the 1950’s where she met her husband John (Doc) of 52 years.

In addition to her husband, Eileen is survived by her sister Maureen Snyder, her daughters, Beth Ann Cannon-Clough (Dare), and Robin Moyer (John), and her adopted son Richard Thompson as well as her many grandsons, Brandon H.P Cannon,V., John C. Cannon (Brooke), Andrew C. Cannon (Damla): Dare Clough, Phillip Clough and Jacob Moyer, the joy of her life her granddaughter, Cadence G. Moyer and recently arrived, Christmas baby, great-granddaughter, Alina Noel Cannon in addition to an array of nieces and nephews who, along with her dear friend of many years, Barbara Donahue, supported her closely during the hours of her final battle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Welding Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 where friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
