Donald T. Rusden, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Christiana Hospital.

He was born in Tamaqua, PA to the late George and Ethel Rusden and graduated from Tamaqua HS in 1951. He served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Diamond State Telephone/AT&T as a manager in 1986 after 30 years. Donald was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed gardening and going to Delaware Park to play the slots. He also liked to travel with his wife, Frances, spending winters in Florida, and was proud to have visited all 50 states. His greatest joy was his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances K. (Casey) Rusden; 4 children, Cathy Miller (Michael) of Chadds Ford, PA, Donald (Roberta) of Claymont, Patty Buckley (Steve) of Newark and Chrissy Rusden of Chadds Ford, PA; 5 grandchildren, Allison, Danielle, Sean, Gabe and Taylor and 5 great-grandchildren, Josh, Lia, Casey, Elizabeth and Jonathan. Donald was also preceded in death by his son Jimmy in 1984 and his 5 siblings.

The family would like to express their sincere and heart felt appreciation to all the staff at the Christiana Hospital and with a special thanks to the MICU staff.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, from 6-8pm, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington (Talleyville). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, at 10 am, where a visitation will be held also from 9-9:45 at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Burial will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
