Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Mary E. Haase and F. Albert Haase. Following his service to our country, Bud completed high school requirements and entered Loyola College in Baltimore from which he graduated as a chemistry major in three years. Upon graduation, according to him, he made the best decision of his life by marrying Lillian Kennedy on July 30, 1950. Bud then graduated from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and later the University of Maryland Law School. During a portion of this time, he also served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Medical Service Corp. Following law school he served as a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C. before entering corporate legal practice. He retired in 1991 as a corporate legal counsel for which is now Astra Zeneca Pharmaceutical Company in Wilmington, DE. Bud and Lil retired in Ocean City, MD along with brother Bob and wife Bette. After fifteen very enjoyable years in O.C., they relocated back to Wilmington to be more accessible to their children and services.
