James Russell Apple “Russ” passed away peacefully on February 16th, with his devoted wife, Trudy, by his side. He danced a nine-year difficult, challenging and courageous dance with a rare cancer. He did not give up, cancer did not win, he just finally stopped dancing.

Russ was always an avid motorcyclist, nowhere was too far as long as he was on his bike. It was his passion. He also led the life of yoga, in all aspects and taught yoga for over 30 years. He earned his yoga teaching certification after many summers at a yoga ashram in Val Moran, Canada, and in India. He loved woodworking and enjoyed gardening. He designed and built a wonderful one of a kind deck and 2 gates and fences for their garden. He was extremely talented and could fix anything. Russ was a Freemason. He was also an animal lover.

Russ was born in Glassboro, New Jersey, and moved to Newark, Delaware, with his parents when he was in grade school. He graduated from Glasgow High and went to U of D where he earned a degree in Engineering and DelTech where he earned a degree in Industrial Piping Design. He worked at DuPont as an engineer, and most recently at MetLife as an insurance agent. He was 58 years old.
