Clem was born in Philadelphia, PA to Clement Bowen, Sr, and Helen Cleaver Bowen. He attended Friends Select, the Haverford School, Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania. He was married to Anne Derham Bowen for almost 50 years. A long time resident of Delaware, Clem worked for the DuPont Company for 35 years. He also called Charleston, West Virginia and Spring Lake, New Jersey, home. He was involved in the Arden Singers, Opera Delaware, the Unitarian Church of Mill Creek, and the Delaware Nature Society. He loved to travel, read and drink bourbon, but mostly he loved to sing! He is survived by his second wife, Mary Catherine "Kate" Bowen; his children; Christina Bowen Johnson, Clement Bowen, III, Mark Bowen and Elizabeth Bowen; his grandchildren, Luke, Aram and Elliot Bowen, Caroline, Alexandra, Nicholas and DeForest Johnson, Hannah and Ian Bowen and Ana Bowen.
