Age 78, passed away on March 9th, 2017 in his home surrounded by family.

A native Delawarean, Herbert graduated from A.I. DuPont High School in 1956, with his brother, he continued his great grandfather’s roofing business, Fulmer Roofing, which had been in business since 1912. He served in the US Armed Forces and volunteered as a fire fighter for the Claymont Fire Company.

Herbert proudly dedicated his life for 41 years to fraternal service as a Master Mason. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member and Past Worshipful Master of Eureka DuPont Lodge #23-29 AF&AM, Past Grand Master (1997-1998) and Past Grand Treasurer of the Grand Lodge AF&AM of Delaware, Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #19 and Past Associate Grand Guardian of Job’s Daughters of Delaware. He continued his service as Grand Secretary in the last 9 years of his life.

Herbert is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Thompson and brother, Robert Fulmer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Fulmer, his daughter, Sharon Smith, his sister, Patricia Ziemann, his 5 grandchildren, and his great grandson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday March 15th at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Tallyville. A Memorial and Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 pm. Extra parking is available in the YMCA parking lot off of Mt. Lebanon Road. Burial will be private.
