On March 11, 2017, Rudy, age 87, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice.

Son of the late Gabriel and Mary (George) DeRocili, Rudy was a Korean War veteran where he served in Japan with his twin brother Valentino (Val). He retired from Formosa Chemical, but his main trade was a skillful tile setter.

Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Elaine DeRocili, his son Kevin DeRocili and his brothers, Anthony, Valentino and Roland DeRocili. He is survived by his daughter Leah DeRocili and her husband Ray Matusiak, his grandson Russell Burns and his wife Stephanie, his great-grandsons, Colin and Liam Burns. Brothers John, Philip and Reynold DeRocili, and sisters Florence Facciolo, Dorothy Riley and Angela Di Taddeo, and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Mary Harvey from Senior Helpers for providing care and companionship since his move to Wilmington and Seasons Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a service will begin at 11:00. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Rudy had a great love for all animals, so in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Dr., Wilmington, DE 19804.
