The only love in my life has passed onto her heavenly reward. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend. Karen passed on Monday, May 15; she had just celebrated her 55th birthday.

Karen was the only daughter to J. Randall and Marjorie Nichols. She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE, and attended Brandywine High School, Towson State, and Widener University where she graduated with a BA in accounting. Karen worked for Slocomb Industries and Acro Extrusion (as an assistant comptroller), Dayton Technologies, Nickle Electrical, Kerns Brothers, and Walgreens. She loved working at Walgreens where she received many accolades for her customer service excellence. She was a Girl Scout, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Sunday School teacher. Karen was the treasurer for Girl Scout Unit 25, and a lifetime member of Talleyville Ladies Auxiliary and Brandywiners Theater Group.

Karen was a strong, beautiful, loving, inspiring, funny, and un-aging woman who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband Rick, daughter Kristina, son Andrew, mother Marjorie Nichols, brothers Jim and John Nichols, as well as her brothers-in-law and their families, and numerous friends.

The family wishes to thank the New Castle County Police Officers McCardle and Barnhart, paramedics, and officers from Brandywine and Talleyville Fire Companies for their compassion and help with our beloved Karen.

A visitation will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809 on Sunday, May 21 at 3 pm with a memorial service at 4 pm. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
