Ronald Bud Bailey of Bear, DE passed away on May 30th surrounded by his loving family. He was a Delaware native and born to Ronald and Myrtle Bailey and was preceded in death by his lovely bride (Carol Bailey), mother (Myrtle Bailey), father (Ronald Bailey), sister ( Carol Conrad), and son (Ryan Bailey)

Ron attended Mount Pleasant & Brandywine High School in 1963 and graduated from The University of Delaware with a B.S. in accounting and economics in 1972. He was employed by DuPont in 1969 after having served 3 years in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence with 2 years served in Republic of Vietnam. He retired from DuPont in August 2009 after 40 years of employment.

Ron was a devoted father, husband, son, uncle, and friend to many throughout his life. He was an all around gentleman, and has instilled great values to his surrounding loved ones. He enjoyed traveling, exercise, target/trap shooting, but also enjoyed a glass of Makers and a pint of Ben & Jerry's Ice cream often.

Ron has spent the past 5 years standing by his wife, Carol Bailey's side as she courageously battled breast cancer. Mourning her death for the past 7 months has been extremely difficult for the family, and him. May the peace that they will now be together comfort their quite large group of family and friends.

Ron leaves behind his 2 daughters, Kristin Leigh Plummer, and Michelle Nicole Larkin (husband Vic); his 4 remaining sisters; and many loving family members and friends, including many adored nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece and nephew.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 9 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 with a funeral service at 10. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery with military honors.
