Age 86, from Wilmington, DE, and a long-time resident of Westminster, MD, passed away on Father’s Day, June 18, 2017.

Bill was born in Cockeysville, MD in 1930, one of three children of Hilda Thompson Parks and
William Geddes Parks. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice (Parks) Lloyd and is survived by his sister, Nancy (Parks) Shock; his children, Bill (Kate), Brent (Alice), Debbie Gibson (Mike),
Jeannine Milowicki (Ed); his grandchildren, Sarah Parks (Jaron Kuppers), Bill Parks (Anthony
Pazos), Greg Parks, Megan Gibson (Peter Carlson) Paul Gibson (Britteney Gibson), Karen
Milowicki, Laura Milowicki and one great-granddaughter, Saoirse Kuppers.

Over the years Bill and his wife Angela, who passed away in 2015, enjoyed boating on the
Chesapeake Bay, fishing and relaxing on the polished teak deck of their handsome Pearson,
“The Nanny,” named after his grandmother. They wintered in Florida for many years, always
returning in early Spring to plant the peas, as Bill was an avid gardener. He fed his grateful
family with a plentiful supply of vegetables, including his prize pole lima beans. Some years his
entire crop was destroyed by heat, lack of water, or stink bugs, but that never stopped Bill from
pounding his fifty poles into the ground to battle the forces of nature the following season. He
also kept his kids well-fed with generous portions of his other favorite foods: Costco’s salmon,
whole filets, and, last but not least, blue crabs. His thorough enjoyment of life, his wide and
varied knowledge, and his vivid storytelling will be sorely missed around the family table.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Saturday June 24th at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington 19803, where friends may greet the family from 11:00 until noon. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill Parks’ memory may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403, or online at www.cbf.org.
