To know Brandon was to love him. His style, constant laughter, big heart, and dedication to his friends and family endeared him to many. On September 19th, 1986, Brandon made his premier entrance into the world and exited this life on July 9th, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Welcomed into the world by his parents Chandra Freeman and Eric Bates, Brandon was adored by his family. As a child and into his adult life Brandon enjoyed spending time with his brother Rickey, cousins Neshia, Jamar, Keenan, Adina and Faran. Brandon, already a great big brother to Rickey, loved his little sister Deandra. Over 10 years ago Brandon met and began to build a life with Francois. If you knew Brandon, you knew that his love of his son Gabe was limitless.

Brandon growing up in North Wilmington, graduated from Concord High School in 2004. Following graduation Brandon worked full-time and attended Wesley College and Wilmington College. Most recently Brandon was employed with Capital One.

Brandon leaves to cherish his memory, husband Francois Baptise; son Gabriel Hall; parents Chandra Freeman, Eric Bates, Sr. and Domonique Bates; siblings Eric Bates Jr, Deandra Jones and Brittany Atkins; grandparents Ronnie Freeman, Sr. , Sheila Joyner, Samuel and Francis Bates, aunts Karen Graham, Margaret Freeman and Lindsay Avagliano; uncles Ronnie Freeman Jr. and Gregory Freeman. Brandon is survived by thousands of family members and friends.

The Brandon Bates Memorial Gala will be held on Saturday, July 15th beginning at 11:00 am at the Waterfall Banquet Hall, 3416 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brandon Bates Memorial Fund for Gabriel Hall’s College Education can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch.
