Lawrence William Broadbent, Jr. passed away peacefully after a brief illness with his beloved family at his side on August 1, 2017 at Christiana Hospital.

He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Broadbent. Larry graduated from Conrad High School, and bravely served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Larry worked diligently as a welder for multiple years, and gained status as a member of the UAW while he worked for and retired from General Motors Corporation as a millwright after 30 years. Most recently, he was a member of the Cherry Hill Methodist Church, and he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dottie Broadbent, his children, Lori Walsh, Beth Nolan (Jim), Larry Broadbent, III, his grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Michelle and Katelyn, his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Savanna, his brothers, Ed Broadbent and Richard Broadbent (Carol), multiple nieces and nephews, and his dog, Pepi.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a service will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
