Age 89, most recently of Wilmington, DE, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2017.

Robert George Burnham was born in Arkona, Ontario on November 7, 1927; the son of Stuart and Mary Burnham. In 1954, Bob married Dorothy Eileen Brydon of Guelph, Ontario, and in 1955 they moved to Oakville, Ontario.

Bob joined Christie Brown and Co. (Nabisco, Toronto) in 1946 as a Payroll Accountant. In 1962, Bob transferred into Nabisco International where he rose through the ranks to the level of Vice President of Finance, representing the company in many acquisitions around the world. His assignments overseas included: Wellington, New Zealand; Melbourne, Australia; Brussels, Belgium; Port Elizabeth, South Africa; and Boston, Massachusetts. Bob retired from Nabisco in 1985, after 39 years of service.

While Bob had a very successful business career, his Christian faith was what was preeminent in his life. Wherever his work took him around the world, he and his family engaged in the fellowship of believers. Bob was instrumental in a church planting in Brussels, Belgium; and in his retirement, Bob served the Evangelical Association of New England.

Bob is survived by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 63 years, and their three loving children: Douglas S. Burnham of Cleveland, OH; R. Jeffrey Burnham and his wife Nancy Seitz Burnham and their two children Robert and Alexandra of Arlington, VA; and Nancy Brydon Burnham and her son Mathew of Haverford, PA. Bob is pre-deceased by his sister Ruth Emslie and survived by his sister Isabel Wilks and her family and David and Gwen Burnham and their family.

A funeral service will be held at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Guelph, Ontario, Canada on Saturday August 12, 2017.
