Phyllis Ann Davis, age 78, of Camp Hill, PA, formerly of Valley Stream, NY died on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of E Caroline Young and the late Frank Dwight Young.

Phyllis attended the University of Maryland where she met the love of her life, Nick Davis. She graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Computer Science. Phyllis spent many years as a homemaker, later venturing out into the workforce where she worked as an aid for special needs children, and later spent 15 years as a computer programmer for PHEAA.

Phyllis was a member of the St. Joseph’s Leisure Club, and also spent many hours volunteering at St. Josephs as part of the Columbiettes. Phyllis’s spare time was spent with family. She was able to attend each and every graduation of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and doing word puzzles. Phyllis wintered in Siesta Key, and collected many fond memories of visiting friends and family.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Nick Davis. She is survived by her children William Davis (Mary), Glenn Davis (Cheryl), Tom Davis (Stefanie), and Jo Ann Alexander (Tony); grandchildren Crystal, Bryan, Chandler, Nick, Carleigh, Julie, Chris, and Kevin; great grandchildren Brooklynne, Hunter, Lilliana; mother E. Caroline Young; 3 siblings and their spouses, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 6 from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 with sharing of remembrances at 7:30 pm. Another visitation will take place the following day, Saturday, October 7 from 9-10 am. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809. Burial will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Phyllis’s name to Ortenzio Center-Pinnacle Health Women’s Center, 2035 Technology Parkway #201, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 or Heartland Hospice, 256 Chapman Rd., Newark, DE 19702.
