Robert Strouss, known to many friends as “Bob,” died on September 26, 2017, at age 52.

A native of Wilmington, DE, Bob graduated from Concord High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. He had various jobs until he turned his life over to the Lord Jesus Christ at Mission Teens in 1995, where he worked faithfully for 11 years. Later he went on to become the Executive Director of the Center for Fathers and Families of Paragould, Arkansas before becoming the Pastor of Emerson Street Church of God in Kennett, Missouri, serving his community with compassion and humility while also serving on the Kennett Ministerial Alliance Board.

Bob will be forever remembered for his love of his family, golfing, fishing, the Philadelphia Eagles, helping others, sharing his faith and love for the Lord, and for his quick wit.

Bob is the son of Marguerite G. Strouss and the late D. Michael Strouss.
He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Shawn Jeter Strouss, a son, James Robert Strouss of Philadelphia, PA, two daughters, Ashley Strouss and Skylar Strouss at home, and siblings Michael G. Strouss of St. Paul, MN, Mary Strouss Moore of Dover, DE, Kristin Strouss-Peyton of Folcroft, PA, and Angelina Oullette of San Antonio, TX. He is also the beloved “Uncle Bob” to Christina Moore Osmundson, Derrick Strouss, Michael R. Strouss, Devon Strouss, Brian Moore, Amanda Strouss Montgomery, Cody Strouss, Christopher Oullette, and Reba Oullette, and great “Uncle Bob” to Alyssa and Abby Montgomery, as well as “Bobby” to many cousins and aunts and uncles. “Robert,” as he is also known to many, leaves behind members of the Jeter Family from Camden, NJ, whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 7th at 10am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am, followed by a luncheon at The Corner Bistro at 3604 Silverside Road in Wilmington. Burial will be private.
