Dorothy Royall (Mullins) Wysong, age 77, passed away on October 2, 2017 in
Wilmington, DE, after a four-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Dorothy was the daughter of the late W. Marcellus Mullins and Eleanor (Royall) Mullins. She was an officer of the Future Business Leaders of America and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1958. Following high school, she attended a vocational office-training program.

In her 20’s, Dorothy was an administrative assistant for both the CIA in D.C. and for a medical facility in Nashville. She and her husband Bob eventually moved to Wilmington, DE and lived there for 54 years. During that time, she was an officer in Women’s Connection for many years and drove a school bus for 12 years. Dorothy had a strong faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, and her most important ministries were being a loving wife and mother, and a true friend to many.

Dorothy enjoyed crafts of all kinds, was a member of an early-American theorem-painting guild, and enjoyed sewing and stained-glass work. She was also a gifted gardener and helped maintain the grounds at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church for many years. Throughout her life, Dorothy joyfully cooked many meals and practiced hospitality for friends and strangers alike, as well as for various church youth groups and Bible studies.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Robert David Wysong, and her two daughters, Elizabeth (Lysa) Royall Wysong Lytikainen (Erik Lytikainen) and Alice Marcella Wysong Molicki (Eric Molicki). Also left to cherish her memory are six grandchildren, Jonathan, Katherine, David, and Luke Lytikainen and Nathan and Nicholas Molicki.

Friends may greet the family from 12:30 to 2:00 pm on Friday October 13, at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mount Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803, where a Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Dorothy’s memory to Brandywine Valley Baptist Church.
