William H. Persinger went home to be with the lord and joined his beloved Marines in guarding the gates of heaven on November 13, 2017.

Born in Lewisburg, West Virginia, he moved to Delaware in 1957. In 1959 Bill joined the Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. After serving in the military he worked at Chrysler for forty years. When he retired he worked part time at Napa Auto Parts for 15 years. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf and baseball, watching Westerns, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents James H. Persinger and Rhoda E. Kern. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sheryl, his children Dawn, William, Alisha, and Evan, grandchildren Sterling, Blaze, and Chevy, and great-granddaughters Aubrey and Emerie.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 2503 Centerville Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
