Sherrard “Sherry” Walter Pecorini, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2017. Sherry was in hospice care at Rockland Assisted Living in Wilmington where she had been living the last few years of her life.

Sherry was born on June 25, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland. As an only child she was raised during the Depression and was a young lady during World War II. She graduated from Loyola College in Baltimore with a Lab Technician degree. It was through her work that she met her future husband Hector who was a chemical engineer. They wed in 1949. Hank, as Hector went by, and Sherry moved from Baltimore to the University of Michigan where Hank received his Ph.D. Sherry and Hank's oldest son was born there. They then moved to Delaware where they spent the remaining 61 years of their marriage. In Wilmington, Sherry and Hank raised their three children, Mark, Derik and Diane. Sherry and Hank enjoyed traveling. Sherry loved to play golf at the DuPont Country Club. She was a parishioner at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Sherry was one of the original members of the church. Sherry also enjoyed painting and had a love of animals. Sherry loved being a Grandmother. She was a family woman.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Hector A. Pecorini, and her son Derik who passed on August 23, 2017. Survivors include her son Mark, daughter Diane and her husband David Hamilton and their two daughters, Julianne and Alyssa Hamilton. Also Julianne 's fiancée Michael Benevento .

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 2:00 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 2800 Duncan Rd. Wilmington, Delaware, 19808. Burial will follow in the church’s memorial garden. The family will greet relatives and friends at a reception in the church's lounge room.
