Wilmington – Edward D. Wise, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2018. He is predeceased by his parents, George Wise and Fammie (Byrd) Wise, and his brother Willis Wise.

Edward was born in Pocahontas, VA. A graduate of Albion Area High School, Edward proudly served his country in the Army of the United States. Upon his discharge, he came home to marry his high school sweetheart, and they moved to Delaware where he worked in the home construction industry for Tigani Builders, Handler Corporation, and most recently JS Schwartz Homes. He was a talented, hard-working man and was dedicated to his family. For many years, Ed enjoyed singing in the Chorus of the Brandywine and Bryn Mawr Barbershop Chorus and Quartets. Above all, Ed loved to be with his family and attend his beloved grandchildren’s events for music, sports and art.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Wolfe), daughters Terri (Bartfai) Mullins (Gary), Julia Hazuda (Dr. Michael Jr.) and their children (Kara Stump (Matt), Michael III (finance Niki Reagan), Leah Cassidy (Matt)), Valerie Wallace (Dave) and their children (David and Eric), Elaine Buonopane (Chris) and their children (Elise, Sofia, Cole), as well as his sister Delores Beatty, and brother Douglas Wise, and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 10am to 12pm, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike in Wilmington, DE. The service and burial will be private.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses in the Neuro ICU unit at Christiana Hospital.
