Anthony C. Ventresca,age 84, of Wilmington, DE, husband of Nancy (Vassallo) Ventresca passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 11, 2018.
He was born and raised in Wilmington son of the late Frank and Angeline Ventresca. He graduated from Wilmington HS in 1952, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Tasty Baking Company as a salesman for many years. Anthony was an avid golfer and a longtime devoted fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers. Mr. Ventresca relished the time he spent with his family and friends. His grandsons were his pride and joy never missing a baseball game or school event.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, Anthony is survived by his children, Frank Ventresca (Theresa) and Susan Ventresca (David Ropars); grandsons. Alex and Daniel Ropars and his aunt, Anna Figliola.
Family and Friends may call after 10:00am on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at
11:00am. Interment will be held privately.
