Charles E. Leach, age 69, of Claymont, DE passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Perry Point Veterans Medical Center. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to all who gave Charlie excellent care for many years.

Charles was born in 1948 and graduated from Claymont High School in 1966. He continued education at the former Brandywine Junior College earning an Associate degree in Merchandising. He then proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He survived a major rocket attack with long lasting PTSD and was unable to recover from this incident. Over the years his health continued to steadily decline.

Charles loved all the major sports and played basketball in high school. He was an avid Phillies fan and became a walking statistic book during those school and early adult years.

He is survived by his mother Mildred “Millie” Leach; three brothers: Paul W., Jr. “Bill” (Gloria), Richard J. (Debbie), and John C. (Lisa); numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his father Paul W. Leach, Sr. in 1973.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, at 6:00 p.m. at
