James M. Hall, Sr., 81 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Sunday January 21, 2018. Jim was a U.S. Marine and served in the Korean War. He worked as a research technician at Chestnut Run DuPont and retired after nearly 40 years of service. Jim loved music and was an accomplished guitar and accordion player. He spent over 25 years being the accordionist for the “Enzian Volkstanzgruppe” at the Delaware Saengerbund where he was a lifelong member. He also enjoyed camping, traveling and riding his motorcycle.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gerda Hall; his son, James M. Hall, Jr.; grandchildren Jason Hall, Jamie Hall, Jenna Hall and great granddaughter Kayleigh, all of Wilmington, and his sister Patricia Voymas of CA.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 30 from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington, 19808. Burial will be on Tuesday February 6 at 10am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bear, DE.
