Dorothy Marie (Henry) Kosey, age 92, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Kutz Home in Wilmington, Delaware.

She is survived by her daughters Patrice (David) Sysko, Susan (Jeff) Leininger and Kathy (Tony) Caligiuri. She is also survived by her grandchildren Suzanne Clough, Ryan Sysko, Eric and Daniel Leininger and Jennifer Griggs and great-grandchildren Siena and Reeve Sysko, Jackson and Cece Clough and Ellie Leininger and her nieces Martha Henry, Eugenia Falter, and Dorothy Slattery.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Anthony Paul Kosey, in 1993. She was also predeceased by her parents, George E. and Roma Henry, her brother George H. Henry, her nephew George Henry and her sister-in-law Susan Venning Henry Etter.

Dorothy was born in Weehawkin, N. J. in January of 1925. She moved with her parents George and Roma Henry to Miami Florida shortly after she was born and was raised in Coral Gables, Florida. She graduated from Coral Gables High School. She met her husband Anthony in 1944 when he was training to be a navigator at an airbase in Miami during World War II. They married in 1945 after Anthony’s return from active duty in England. Dottie and Tony moved to Delaware in the early 1950’s after Tony completed a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida and got a job with the DuPont Company in Wilmington.

Dorothy was a stay at home mom and avid volunteer until she started her first job at age 40. She was hired by the University of Delaware to be an assistant to Don Bard who headed up the new Conference Center at the University of Delaware. The program was very successful and eventually expanded with the opening of Clayton Hall. Dorothy had a successful 22-year career at the University until her retirement in 1987.

A private service will be held on February 3 with interment at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware.
