Eileen K. Jurman passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday February 8, 2018 in Yardley, PA.
She was born in Garfield, NJ to the late Anna (Klipka) and Michael J. Karcz and graduated from Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, NJ. She married Stephen E. Jurman, her high school sweetheart, in 1959 and worked for Hoffman-La Roche before becoming a full-time devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. As her children grew older and college loomed on the horizon, she joined ICI Chemicals as an administrative assistant for Stuart Pharmaceuticals and later as a purchasing agent for ICI Colors and Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, retiring in 1999 after 21 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. She loved music: she was an accomplished accordionist, was always ready to dance at social gatherings, and loved sharing and celebrating her Polish heritage. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress. She loved and could grow any type of flower and was especially fond of orchids. She treasured her relationships with her friends and above all, with her family.
Eileen is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Jurman of San Francisco, CA and Lorrie Chalupa and her husband (Rudy) of Newtown, PA and their 3 children, Matthew, Catie and John. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Stephen, her mother and father, Anna and Michael Karcz Sr., and her brother Michael Karcz Jr.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 16 from 6-8 pm at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.
