Margaret Elizabeth (Montgomery) Day was born in 1925 to Maurice Albert Montgomery and Minnie Catherine Eberly in Waynesboro PA. She graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School in June 1943 and completed nurses training at Washington County Hospital in Sept of 1946 earning her RN. She married Robert Day of Wilmington DE, and they moved to DE. Her first son was born in October of 1947, and a second son in July 1950.

After a brief period volunteering as a nurse then substituting for an absent teacher, Margaret was offered a job teaching Kindergarten at St David's Day School in North Wilmington, where she taught for 29 years.

Her Christian Faith was always foremost in her heart, and after moving to the Prices Corner area she joined and became quite active in Bethany Baptist Church. She was always ready to help and was an active contributor to many of the missions undertaken by the church. Supporting children with aids had a special place in her heart. Many remember the church rooms filled with care packages and teddy bears that helped so many children and their parents have a merrier Christmas. As she became less able to get out of the house, she maintained an active personal Bible study and her mornings always started with a cup of coffee and studying scripture.

She died on Mar 12th, 2018. Those who knew her will miss her dearly, but we know she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert and John; her brother, Jim; sister, Betsy and her grandchildren, Aaron and April.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday March 29th at Bethany Baptist Church, 410 Denver Road, Wilmington, DE 19804. Burial will be private.
