Henry John “Hank” Corrigan, Jr., age 71, of Newark, DE died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice with his family by his side.

Hank was a 1964 graduate of Salesianum and a 1966 graduate of Goldey-Beacom College. He served our country as a Radio Operator and Military Advisor to the Army of The Republic of Viet Nam Rangers while assigned to the US Army Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV). Hank earned a Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Medal, among other awards.

Hank worked as an electrician for the IBEW Local 313. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Vietnam Veterans of America, and was associated with the Atterbury VFW Post in Newark, DE and the Kennett Square VFW Post. Hank enjoyed playing pool, basketball, reading, and doing puzzles, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Hank is survived by his wife Carrie Bell Corrigan of Newark, DE; son Michael S. Corrigan of Newark, DE; daughters Melissa Corrigan Roberts of Wilmington, DE and Diane Shamburger of Chester, PA; grandchildren Sean, Sydney, and Brianna Corrigan, Jack and Brooke Roberts, Lilly Ward, Reyneeta McClure, Danielle Simms; and great-grandchildren Ethan Simms and Daniel McClure.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4 from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A funeral service with military honors will be held the following day, Thursday, April 5 at 10 am at the funeral home. The burial will take place privately on another day at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
