Liliana P. D’Orazio, 87, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away April 5, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 15, 1931 in Rome, Italy and as a young woman worked at the movie studio Cinecetta near Rome. Liliana married the late Albert D’Orazio October 13, 1962 and soon after immigrated to the US. She became a United States citizen May 2, 1977. Liliana was an accomplished seamstress / tailor and she worked for many tailoring and bridal shops in Wilmington. She was well known by many prominent Wilmingtonians for her skills and subsequently started her own business - Liliana’s in downtown Wilmington. Liliana was also a master Italian cook and entertained many at her home. Father Balducelli and Father Bugliosi of St. Anthony’s Parish were regular attendees of her Christmas and Easter dinners.

Liliana was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D’Orazio, and her siblings. She is survived by 2 nieces, Sharon Schopfer and husband Christopher of Wilmington and Cynthia Narveaz and husband Micheal of Bear; and 1 nephew, Thomas Carnevale M.D. and wife Valerie of Clearfield, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Friday, April 13, 2018 at St Anthony of Padua Church. Entombment at Cathedral Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Anthony’s Parish, 901 N. DuPont St., Wilmington, DE 19805.
