Lady Lourene Ann Gedling Adams, 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
In 2008 she became a Lady of Glencoe, Scotland. She was a member of the AARP Claymont Chapter 175, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, where she served on the vestry and altar guild, Dickinson Theatre Organ Society, Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts, where she served on the board of directors. Lourene was a former member of the Republican National Committee and the Women Voters of New Castle County.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor T. Adams, by her parents Edwin Gedling, Sr. and Meta Edith Glenn Gedling as well as brothers Edwin, Jr., George,(Bo), Hugh Robert (Bob) and Donald Gedling. Lourene is survived by her daughters Carol Lee Adams (Babak Golgolab), Susan Meta Adams Smith (Mickey), and Julie Glenn Adams McDaniel (Jim), her grandchildren Victoria Lourene Smith, James Allen McDaniel, II, (Crystal Pini) Leela Michelle Golgolab, Joshua Andrew McDaniel, Jesse Adams McDaniel, Nickole Beatrice Smith, Malcolm William Smith, Jr. and her great-grandchildren Chase Patrick Kruzel, Haley Jade Murawski, Reilley Nickole Murawski.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilmington, DE 19803. A service will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Anglican Church, 4201 Washington Street, Wilmington, DE 19802 with the Rev. Canon Kenneth W. Gunn-Walberg presiding. Burial will be at Grace Episcopal Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Anglican Church.
