Phyllis S. Baldwin, age 93, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018.
She was born in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Carrie and Edgar Sheldon. Phyllis graduated from P.S. DuPont HS in 1941. She was a secretary for the Veteran’s Hospital, Elsmere, then started her own business, Baldwin Janitorial Services.
Phyllis was a 55 year member of Five Points #13/Caesar Rodney #8 Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star and New Castle # 1418, Women of the Moose. She was a lifelong Phillies fan.
Her husband, Thomas W. Baldwin, Sr. died in 1973 and her son Thomas W. Baldwin, Jr. in 1992. Phyllis is survived by her a daughter, Billie Lee Banning (Kenneth, Jr.); 2 grandchildren, Kimberly A. Hood (Douglas) and Kevin J. Oliver (Cheryl); step granddaughter, Dawn M. Banning and 5 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 13, from 6-8 pm, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, where an OES service will be held at 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 10 am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
