Millsboro- Miles Francis Johnson, age 70, passed away on August 27, 2018.
Miles was born in Wilmington, DE on May 7, 1948. He graduated from Wesley Junior College and the University of Delaware. Among other jobs he was self-employed as an Executive Recruiter for 25 years.
In retirement he loved working out at the gym and walking the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach. Miles was an excellent basketball player and was a first team all-state player for Brandywine High School in 1967. He hurt his knee playing in college which ended his basketball career. He continued to enjoy watching and talking about basketball as well as other sports. Miles was a very caring person; if someone was having difficulties he was always willing to help in any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter S. Johnson, Sr. and M. Lorraine Johnson and his brother Walter S. Johnson, Jr. He is survived by his daughters Kimberly Eriko Jamison (Peter) and Heather Miles Dwyer (Ted). He is also survived by his brothers Cary P. Johnson (Beth) and Christopher W. Johnson and his sister Victoria T. Boyer and four grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 14, at 11 am, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call after 10 am. A light reception will follow directly at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart Association would be appreciated.
