Age 95, of Wilmington, DE passed away on September 5, 2018. Roland was born on May 18, 1923 and raised as a child by Zora "Nanny" Doto.

Roland was a lab technician with the State of Delaware and worked at Wilmington High School. In addition, he was a spotlight operator at the Playhouse Theater throughout the 1960s for numerous productions, including The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady. Mr. Dewey was also a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years.

Roland's hobbies included assembling remote controlled airplanes and collecting miniature train sets. He was an avid card player who played monthly card games with friends well into his 90's. He also loved the University of Delaware football team and was a season ticket holder for many years.

Mr. Dewey is predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jane Dewey and his brother, Chester. He is survived by his son, Joseph A. Dewey and wife Lisa. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle and husband Casey, Joseph M. and wife Lauren, and Jay. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Trey and Chase.
