Wilmington, DE - Age 85 passed away peacefully on Sunday October 28th, 2018.Dorothy Elizabeth Medico, daughter of Robert and Vera Brown was born in Salisbury, MD on October 12,1933 and was raised on her family's farm in Atlanta, DE, between Bridgeville and Seaford, DE. She was the valedictorian of her class at Bridgeville High School and upon graduation she moved 2 hours north to Wilmington to attend Goldey Beacom College. From graduation until retirement she worked at DuPont. She began work at DuPont's downtown office building, took some years off to raise her children and later returned to DuPont working at the experimental station. She loved the beach, Norman Rockwell, bird watching and singingChristmas tunes (at any time of year). She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Medico; sisters Mary Ellen Porter and Roberta "Bobbie" Bowden; sons James L. and John P. Medico and grandson Jason R. Blevins. She is survived by children Deborah L. Dowd Beattie (Jay), Laraine T. Riccio (Joe), Annette M. Medico (Lou), and Michael F. Medico (Brian); daughters-in-law Joanne and Michelle Medico; grandchildren, Brandilyn E. Langevin, Patrice M. Foster, Jimmy and Mark Medico, Lauren A. Ascione, Marlaina R. Medico, Everly R. and Bowie W. Medico-Wright and; 7 great-grandchildren: brother-in-law Louis Bowden and sister-in-law Gloria A. Sparco and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews. Friends are welcome for visitation from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am on Saturday November 3, at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington,19808. There will also be a visitation form 2-2:30 pm followed by a service at 2:30 pm at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St. Seaford, DE 19973. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford.
