Jennifer Lynn Burke, age 33, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully October 28, 2018 at Christiana Care Health Center with her family by her side.

Jennie graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in 2003 and worked for Goodwill Industries. She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate soul who wrote countless letters to deployed soldiers, and was a longtime volunteer at Stockings for Soldiers and Soldiers’ Angels. Jennie also enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Her family would like to thank all the hospital staff at the Christiana ER and ICU who took such great care of her.

Jennie was predeceased by her grandparents, William J. Burke, and James and Catherine Smith. She is survived by her parents Patty and Jack Burke of Wilmington, DE; sister Katie Burke of Wilmington, DE; grandmother Mary Burke of Brockton, MA; aunts and uncles William and Dora Burke of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ronald and Pamela Rousak of Wilmington, DE; cousins Mary (Burke) and Philip Canning of London, England, John Burke and Amanda (Neff) of Chesapeake City, MD, Bruce Maichle of Lewes, DE, and Jamie Rousak of Wilmington, DE.

A viewing will be offered on Thursday, November 1 from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Overflow parking will be available at the adjacent Brandywine YMCA. All other services will be private.
