Helen Cobb, age 94, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Seaside Park, NJ, died November 13, 2018 at Foulk Manor North.

Helen graduated from Battin High School in Elizabeth, NJ in 1941. She worked for several years at Bell Telephone in Newark, NJ as an executive secretary before marrying J. Bruce Cobb in October of 1954. Helen devoted herself to raising their children and assisting with her husband’s business in Seaside Heights, NJ. After Bruce’s death in 1972, she worked as a secretary in a real estate office before retirement.

Helen was a long-time member of the Soroptimist Club in Toms River, NJ and supporter and volunteer at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, as well as a Girl Scout Leader.

For many years Helen was a member of a seniors dancing group in Toms River called the Calendar Girls. They traveled mainly to assisted living and nursing homes and occasionally they would perform in places such as Atlantic City. She loved dressing up in the different costumes and bringing smiles to the faces of people wherever she performed.

Helen was predeceased by her husband J. Bruce Cobb. She is survived by her sons Lindsay L. Cobb and Christopher B. Cobb; granddaughters Dana Cobb, Maggie Smith and Madeline Cobb.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 26 at 11 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 with visitation beginning at 10 am. Interment will take place privately.
