WILLIAM “BILL” D. MACE, SR.

Wilmington - William “Bill” D. Mace, Sr., age 56, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2018, surrounded by his family.
A life-long Wilmington resident, Bill graduated from Mt. Pleasant HS in 1980. He was the owner-operator of Mace Contractors Inc. for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing on his boat in Wye Mills, MD. Bill was a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan who never missed Monday Night Football and loved listening to the Phillies on the AM dial. One of his favorite memories was attending the clinching game of the Phillies 2008 World Series Championship with his daughter.
Known for his sense of humor and always quick with a smile, Bill truly knew someone everywhere he went. A true family man, Bill shared a special bond with his nephew Kevin and his youngest employee Bubby.
Bill is survived by his two children, William Mace (Kim), Heather Mace and all his honorary children (you know who you are); former wife, Diana (nee-Casula); mother, Barbara Winder; father, John Mace; granddaughter, Harper Quinn; 7 siblings; Dan (Lisa), Jackie (Bob), John (Laura), Jodi (Frank), Bonnie (Mike), Barbara (Alberto) and Mark (Amy) and a very large extended family, along with many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held at Elks Lodge, 1310 Carruthers Ln, Wilmington DE 19803, on Saturday, December 8, from 3-7pm.
Burial will be held privately.
