Don A. Boyd of Wilmington, Delaware, age 92, passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home in Maris Grove, Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Don was born in Lincoln Nebraska to the late Joseph and Gladys Boyd.
He is survived by his loving wife, of seventy years, Bonnie V. (Kinkade) Boyd; his five children, Nancy, Karen, Steven (Sue), Carol (Ramiro), Margie (Victor); his eight grandchildren, Michael, (Joan), Julie (Michael), Ally (Matthew), Kendall (Geoffrey), Kara and Devon [father Mark Kennard], Hannah, and Victor Jr.; his seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Sadie, Evan, Lilah, Frank, Tenley, and Harlyn; and his sister Janet Mamaclay (Ray).

Don was a kind and caring member of his family and community. He grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Superior High School in 1944. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1951 and was elected to the Order of the Coif before beginning a fulfilling career in law and politics. Don was a veteran of WWII where he served in the Army Air Corp. He was proud to serve as a member of the Electoral College for the Republican Party from Nebraska. He and his wife moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 1960 where they raised their family, and Don began a long career working for DuPont as an attorney. Don was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wilmington, Delaware for more than 60 years, where he also sung in the choir. He enjoyed many decades of participation in the Brandywiners, where he shared his love for song and theater with the community. Don had a green thumb and enjoyed planting a backyard garden full of cucumbers, tomatoes, and green beans. He was also an avid golfer and could often be found hitting the links at DuPont Country Club, where he and Bonnie were members for many years.

Services for Don will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church located at 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware 19803. Friends and family are welcome to offer condolences from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at Aldersgate.
