Dr. Erdem Munir Atadan, age 92, left us peacefully on Tuesday Dec 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Izmit, Turkey Oct. 1, 1926, he came to the USA on a full government scholarship and attended Lafayette College and UTenn, where he completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering and Math with highest honors.

Immediately, he was employed by DuPont in Knoxville, TN, Gibbstown, NJ, and finally the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE. Erdem retired in 1995 after 45 years of service. He was awarded 13 significant patents and traveled the world as a consultant. He was an avid photographer and loved dancing, and all types of music. He encouraged his children to study music, arts, and achieve a higher education. He also shared his enthusiasm for the Phillies and Eagles.

More than anything he loved Nevin, his wife of nearly 70 years who survives him and his children Suzan Cerceo (Joe), Selma Jones (Dennis), Denis and David (Janice). His dear son John Neptun predeceased him in 2013. His grandchildren Jennifer Barnes, Kristin and Brett Wilhide, Thomas and Daniel Atadan, and great granddaughter Lena Cox will all miss his kind and generous spirit and love.
