Age 42, of Wilmington, Delaware, died Thursday, January 17 after a heroic two year battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.

Casey was a gifted child and student, excelling in math and science. As a young man, Casey loved skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, and backpacking--visiting every National Park in the U.S. He graduated with high honors from the University of Delaware with a degree in Civil Engineering in 2003. After graduation, Casey worked as Civil and Environmental Engineer at Tetra Tech in Newark, Delaware. Most recently, Casey was a co-owner of MESH Vintage in Philadelphia.

Casey was a modern-day Renaissance man, who excelled at everything he pursued. His true passion in life was making and performing music, specifically electronic and experimental music. He played multiple instruments, including classical guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards/synthesizers. He wrote and produced numerous albums, and collaborated on dozens of artist compilations. He also was a sought after sound engineer and DJ, who performed under many monikers, including: Looseleaf, Passable Plastic, Casimer Plastic, NEAREST, Panzer Division, Empty Shapes, Obligate Surrogate, Secret Societies, Sonic Syrup, Bill Ricco 5, and Tric Zine Chemical.

Casey was a prolific painter and writer who founded the Philly Zine Fest over fifteen years ago. He wrote and published his own music and arts magazine, Tric Zine. Casey was a fierce advocate for the local arts scene, dedicating his entire adult life to advancing independent music and culture in the greater Philadelphia region.

In addition, Casey had an adventurous and curious spirit. With his wife Michelle, they travelled off-the-beaten path to remote locations in Central and South America. Together they loved to explore exotic cuisines and lifestyles.

Casey is survived by his soul mate and wife of 20 years, Michelle Renee Dewey; and family: Jayson M. Dewey; Joseph M. and Lauren Dewey; Melissa Dewey; Joseph A. and Lisa Dewey; Helen and Adrian Sharp; Gwen Grabowski; T.J. Grabowski; Nikolai Grabowski; Nancy and Ron Corbett; and his beloved cats: Henry, Betty, Tutu, Lucy, and big Chrissy. And finally, an army of hundreds of friends and supporters whom we are eternally grateful for.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life party in Casey's honor at Harry's Savoy Grill and Ballroom, 2020 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE 19810, on Friday, January 25 from 6-10 PM.
