Margaret T. Lazor died peacefully in her sleep on January 30, 2019 and is now spending eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a native Delawarean and the daughter of the late Homer and Hanna Tatman. She graduated from P.S. duPont High School in 1942 and Delaware Hospital School of Nursing in 1945 and was prepared to serve in World War II. She served as a registered nurse at the Alfred I. duPont Institute for Children both before her marriage and after living in New Jersey for 15 years and raising her children.
Margaret loved working with children both in the hospital and at her church where she faithfully served for many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Westminster Catechism class. She enjoyed painting in her early years and at the Academy of Lifelong Learning after her retirement from nursing. Other than her devotion to her family, Margaret was known for her devotion to her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William Lazor. Margaret is survived by her children, William James Lazor of Huntington Beach, CA and Lois Ann Lazor of Wilmington, DE.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Home Instead Senior Care, particularly her first and last primary caregivers, Mary Theresa White and Angela Westmoreland, Vitas Hospice, and Jennifer Conley of Fox Rehab for enabling Margaret to remain at home with her beloved cat until the end.
