Robert R. Towson, 62, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2021 in Newark, Delaware.
Bob was born in Ridley Park, PA in 1958 to Kay and Robert Towson. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1976. Bob spent his career in restaurant management, working the past eight years for the Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
Bob married the love of his life, Liz, on April 7, 1995. He loved spending time at the family cabin in Potter County, PA and at the beach, especially Emerald Isle, NC. He enjoyed reading, bonfires, attending concerts and listening to music in general. He shined in the kitchen while making new food dishes for his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert C.; brother, Thomas; and brother-in-law, Hans Ploeg. He is survived by his mother, Kay; his beloved wife, Liz; his children, Bobby, Jenna, Brooke and Matthew; his sister, Linda Ploeg; and nieces, Adriana, Michele, and Kimmy.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808). The memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
