The family of Deborah (Debbie) Gibson Brown is sad to announce her passing on July 29th 2021 at the age of 70. She is now free of pain and has joined the many loved people and animals that preceded her to heaven.
Debbie is survived by her husband Jim Brown, brother Muscoe III (Renee) Gibson, sister Donna (Tim) Player, nieces and nephews (Scott Gibson, David and Nicole Player), step-children Luke (Sara) Brown, Joe (Blair) Brown, Elizabeth (Rob) Foster, and step-grandchildren (Jeb, Anna, Catherine and Jane Brown).
Debbie was born in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Muscoe II and Jane Gibson. The family moved to Pennsylvania where she attended Mannheim Township and Westfield High Schools (Class of ‘69), then on to Emerson College in Boston and the University of Maryland in College Park. The family moved to Wilmington where Debbie met her husband Jim.
Debbie and Jim enjoyed spending much of the next 33 years of marriage in Ocean City NJ and the surrounding shoreline collecting seashells and loving memories. Debbie was a devoted nature lover, speaking to the wild rabbits in our backyard (who waited to see her at the window), 4 loving Bassett Hounds over 22 years, and a loving diamond back terrapin of 13 years, OC.
A private celebration of life will be held soon at the Jersey shore for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the Delaware Humane Association or to Faithful Friends animal shelter in Wilmington.
