Edward I. “Ed” Anderson, Sr. age 67, of Newark, DE passed on January 1, 2022.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Cora (Trader) and Alfred Anderson. Ed graduated from Wilmington High School in 1972. He started his working career as a meat cutter at the former Super Fresh grocery store, Miller Road and was custodian at the City-County Building.Ed then worked for 36 years for the Wilmington Housing Authority where he was a Project Manager. In his free time, you could find him working on side jobs repairing cars to appliances.
Ed enjoyed playing pool and even more playing his bass.
He is survived by his wife Sherri (Nutter) of 17 years; his children, Dawn Anderson, Edward I. Anderson, Jr. (Tasha), his twins- Kina Deshields and Kisha Bailey, Lisa Summers (George), Jordan Banks and Samantha Anderson; his siblings, Alfred, Dana, Keith, Phyllis, Connie, Maxine, Toni and Gene and host of grand children and great-grandchildren plus a large extended family.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 9 from 6:30-7:30pm, at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington and on Monday, January 10 from 12 noon to 1:30pm where a funeral service will follow at 1:30pm. Burial will be held privately.
