Anastasios “Tasi” Adamopoulos, age 58, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 10, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with metastatic lung cancer.
Born in Kefalonia, Greece, Tasi immigrated to the United States with his parents and younger brother in 1967. He graduated from Concord High School in 1981. Tasi was a successful restaurateur, starting and owning multiple pizza and sub shops throughout his life, his first at 20 years old with his parents. His passion for food spread from his businesses to his personal life, always hosting friends and family over for birthdays, holidays, and “just because.” Tas will be remembered as a genuine, kind, generous, and dependable person to all who knew him. He joyfully helped those that called upon him, no questions asked. He also loved his birthplace, Kefalonia, vacationing their multiple times throughout his life.
He was previously deceased by his parents, Konstandinos and Angeliki Adamopoulos. He is survived by his brother, Sotiere, nephews and nieces, Kostandinos (Anna), Angeliki (Adam), Athena, Sotiri, four God-children, and countless cousins and close friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McCrery Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:15p.m. The funeral will follow on Wednesday, May 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19806. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
