Lambe “Harry” Profi Serbu, age 89, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Wilmington Hospital.
Harry was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He joined the Navy in 1952, and was an award-winning naval photographer. After his discharge in 1956, Harry graduated from Temple with an architectural engineering degree. He worked at Sun Ship and Dry Dock Company for twenty years, and went on to found a construction company where he spent the remaining part of his career. Harry remained devoted to photography, especially architectural shots, and exploring historical sites. He will be remembered as a person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Harry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Serbu; children Mary Ann Holland (Bud), Steve Serbu (Marjorie), Karen Webb, Joe Serbu (Tina); 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings Jack and Nick Serbu and Angie LeBeaumont.
A viewing will be offered on Tuesday, September 13 beginning at 11:30 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, with a funeral service at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
