Sharon E. Corkadel (nee: Pethel), age 62, born in Wilmington, DE; of Hockessin and formerly of Newark, DE passed away to her eternal heavenly home on September 4, 2022.
She is predeceased by her father, Richard Brady Pethel and her grandparents, Everette and Gurtrude Pethel and Liston and Anice Coney. Sharon is survived by her sons, Sean B. Corkadel (Rebecca) of Hockessin, DE and S. Dylan Corkadel (Krista) of Aston, PA; daughter, Sara Corkadel of Danbury, CT; brothers, Scott and Richard A. Pethel, both of Newark, DE; her mother, Doris Pethel (nee: Coney) of Newark, DE; her BFF’s, Patty Spencer, Gina Henry and Louis & Rosemary Toobert and many kinfolk in NC and NY state.
Sharon graduated from Christian High School, Class of 1977 and received an Associate’s Degree from Del. Tech Comm. College. She spent career in the offices of Hellmark Steel Co. and Sumitt Steele, Inc. She enjoyed Bible Studies at Ogletown Baptist Church, the beach, pencil puzzles, reading, sketching, long walks and family gatherings.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 9-10 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, where a funeral service will follow at 10 am. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
