Sharon Kay Beno entered heaven on September 18, 2022. Sharon Kay was born in Easton, MD, on July 13, 1941, to Fletcher Phillips and Florence Patton Phillips. Sharon’s early years were spent both in Federalsburg, MD and Chester, PA. Sharon married Stephen George Beno in 1965, and they settled in North Wilmington. A loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, Sharon also worked in various administrative roles, most notably as a secretary at The Christian Academy and the Tatnall Lower School. Sharon was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church and then Sycamore Hill Church, where she found deep friendships that filled her with hope and joy.
Sharon is pre-deceased by her husband, Stephen. She is survived by her two children: Tracey Beno Pritchard (Dan) and Richard Beno (Jeana), and four grandchildren: Corey Pritchard (Becca), Jamey Pritchard (Brooke), Kelsey Beno, and Nathan Beno.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 10:30 am at Sycamore Hill Church—Hockessin Campus, 505 Schoolhouse Rd, Hockessin, DE. The service will also be livestreamed on the church website. Guests are invited to enjoy refreshments and visit with the family following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to The Christian Academy (tca-pa.org/giving/donate) and to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Delaware & Eastern Shore (givetoiv.org/dees).
