Irene F. Hershberger (Fran), 85, born March 31, 1937, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2022. Fran was born in Wilmington to the late Millard F. Davis, Sr., and Irene Wansor Davis.
She lived in the Wilmington area most of her life and was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was loved, adored, and cared for by family members and her companion, Albert Kirschner during her illness. Fran waitressed in several area restaurants and enjoyed meeting and serving people.
She will be remembered for her sassiness and her love of her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her siblings. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children, Richard Hershberger (Alice Marie); Donna Lloyd; Diane Kirchner (Chris), her brother Millard F. Davis Jr., her sisters Doris Brown and Barbara Klenk, four Grand Children, six Great Grand Children. Along with her parents, Irene is preceded in death by siblings John M. Davis; Bonnie Carter; Earl B. Davis, Sr. ; Charles J. Davis; Jackie Davis. A Celebration of Life will be held privately later.
